GeePS.com Begins Beta Testing New Wireless Shopping Service

NEW YORK -- GeePS.com, a developer of location-based online wireless products and services, said it began beta testing a new online shopping portal in New York and San Francisco. The new portal allows customers with wireless Internet access to find shopping locations close to them using global positioning satellite and wireless technologies. The information can be personalized for individual consumers. GeePS.com raised a $1 million first round with investments from IT consulting firm Visionet and individuals. The company expects to close its second round within the next 30 days.
