PC Speakers Tutorial | Byline article | Press Release | Return to intro

Jon Boroshok served as lead client and media contact for Sony's Accessory Product Division, with a product line ranging from computer accessories (speakers, microphones, etc.) to headphones.

He was also an integral part of an account team working on Sony's HiFi, home video, and television products, including the launch of Sony's venture into the TV satellite dish marketplace.

Working on a major consumer technology account such as Sony enabled Jon to develop relationships with traditional technology and consumer media, and he became a specialist in developing user-friendly pitches and applications for technical products. Through his creative press materials and innovative programs, Sony received coverage in traditional, vertical and consumer media -- even in publications that normally would not cover technical products.

Computers have come a long way in a short time. Back in 1994, a multimedia computer with separate speakers was considered cutting edge. Not only did the media need to be informed of what products and technologies were available, they also needed to be educated on how to pick a pair of PC speakers.

Part of Jon's job was to provide this education to the press, which he accomplished in a Multimedia Speakers Tutorial.

Sony was the world's largest manufacturer and seller of headphones and accessories, and Jon was one of the people charged with keeping them at #1. A well placed byline article goes a long way in keeping up a well-deserved image.

It was also Jon's responsibility to introduce Sony's 1995 product lineup, and prove that Sony is the "King of the Electronics Jungle."
