AT&T 32-bit "power tool" design software for PowerPC
LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- AT&T today announced the release of a PowerPC version of its popular Multimedia Designer for Windows NT multimedia design and illustration tool.
The PowerPC version of Multimedia Designer is the latest addition to AT&T's graphics toolbox. The existing suite of software tools includes Multimedia Designer for Windows 3.1 (currently being developed for Windows 95), Multimedia Designer for Windows NT, RIO (a DOS-based graphics design tool commonly used for broadcast graphics) and Panorama (an authoring tool for RIO graphics). Graphics created on one system can be revised or run on any of the others.
"With the addition of the PowerPC version of Multimedia Designer, we've expanded our software products to cover a wider variety of Windows platforms," said Timothy May, product manager for AT&T's Multimedia Software Solutions Group. "We're running on Windows 3.1, Windows NT, and now PowerPC. This is a 32-bit native application, not a re-written 16-bit application, so it's compatible with Windows 95 too."
The product is available now from AT&T Multimedia Software Solutions at an introductory price of $395 by calling 1-800-892-8550, ext. 333.
Multimedia Designer, an easy-to-use, affordable tool, gives graphic designers and business professionals the ability to quickly create exciting graphics and multimedia presentations. Multimedia Designer ships with 250 high quality True Type fonts and a CD-ROM packed with photographic and high-quality graphics images.
Eight light sources, combined with ambient and reflective lighting shadows, add realism and impact to graphic designs and presentations. Multimedia Designer's object-oriented, intuitive interface leads users through operations without forcing them to remember commands and protocols.
"Multimedia Designer gives high-end graphics professionals a powerful tool for their design palettes, and at the same time gives business professionals the ability to quickly create high quality, interactive presentations with dimension and excitement," said May.
Multimedia Designer supports scene, object and image files of 8-, 16-, 24- or 32-bit data with complex blending capabilities and import/export of many popular file formats. The product is supported by a user guide, a quick reference guide and a font manual.
Multimedia Designer requires a minimum of 6MB of RAM and 20MB of disk space. An SVGA compatible high color display card and 200MB of image storage capacity are recommended.
