Kryptonite Launches Notebook Computer Security Lineup To Combat $900 Million In Annual Computer Thefts

CANTON, MASS, NOVEMBER 3, 1999 - Kryptonite Corporation, a leading provider of security protection products, today introduced a full line of portable anti-theft devices for notebook computers.

Notebook computer theft resulted in over $900 million in insurance claims in 1998 according to the Safeware Loss Study. 303,000 notebook computers were stolen. Kryptonite's Motion Sensor Alarm allows users to secure their notebook computers anyway, anytime, anywhere. It's the only motion sensor alarm on the market that includes a docking station, allowing you to attach the alarm directly to the computer without having to use the cable as a tether, and enables you to hide the alarm under a desk or table for stealth security. It has a 3-digit resettable combination lock mechanism, with three levels of security: two modes of motion sensitivity and a retractable steel cable.
