Dennis Allocco - Summit, NJ

Janet (Anderson) Leopardo - Hillsborough, NJ writes: Would you believe Iwas a bandy, but, so far, my oldest daughter (16) is in sports (like lacrosse and weightlifting) and my middle daughter (12) is a pop warner cheerleader, go figure! "

Kevin Austra - Delaware City, DE writes: "Twenty-five years ago I would have never figured that I would settle in Delaware. Though in all fairness, our river front town is within sight of New Jersey on the opposite side of the Delaware River. After the 1978 GL graduation I attended Seton Hall University and graduated in 1982 with a bachelor of arts degree in communications. Shortly thereafter I entered active duty in the Army as a Military Intelligence officer. After 12 years of military travel and training including paratroop school and a combat assignment in OPERATION DESERT STORM, I made the tough decision to leave the Army in search of a career that would offer more quality time with my ever growing family. Indeed, the excitement of disappearing for six months at a time for military deployments wore thin after a decade. Prior to saying good-bye to the Army I completed my masters degree in administration. Returning to the good 'ole United States from Europe I was thrust into what for me was the very unfamiliar world of job searching. After stumbling through interviews from Massachusetts to Georgia to Wisconsin I landed a position as a claims representative trainee with Progressive Insurance in Delaware. I remained essentially with the same branch claims office for eight and a half years at which time time I worked my way up from trainee to territorial claims manager. In a sense, my career history repeated itself as the mid-management position became an all consuming seven-day-a-week job. In January 2003 I made a lateral career move in the company and took on a field implementation and staff training job in Philadelphia. My territory includes southeast Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey. I travel a lot more, but my weekends, holidays and evenings are now generally free from work commitment. That was a significant change for the better. Last year my wife Dorothy and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. We have three children. Our eldest daughter is about to start high school this autumn. When I'm not working, helping with homework, or making innumerable repairs on the house I write articles for magazines and newspapers. Two years ago I was honored to have one of my articles appear as a chapter in a published book. As for my own book, well I've been slowly working on that for several years. One of these decades I will get the darn thing out for publication! I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion."

B.

Elizabeth Baechler - Guilford, CT writes: I still live in Connecticut and am currently learning how to parent two teenaged boys with grace, style and humor. Since our last reunion, I left my old law firm after almost 15 years to join a former colleague at his own firm. I still do litigation, but now concentrate more on employment and healthcare issues. I leave work every afternoon in time to be home after school, and sometimes work from home - what a blessing! I continue to seek adventure in the outdoors and have started section-hiking the Appalachian Trail in New England, with a trip to hike the Grand Canyon rim-to-rim scheduled for this Fall. I volunteer on my town's Conservation Committee and have some trail maintenance responsibilities of my own, which I have found is much more fun than the Board of the local Bar Association (which I quit). Good health and the love of family and friends is my good fortune. I will do my best to attend the reunion this year.

William Baker - Mahwah, NJ writes: "I have moved back to the New Jersey area to Mahwah, NJ. It's great to be back, after having lived in Pittsburgh, South Jersey, Switzerland, Japan, and North Carolina. I am now VP of Sales and Marketing for the Plastics Segment of Ciba Specialty Chemicals where I have worked for 21 years. I graduated from Rutgers in 1982 (BS in Engineering) and got my MBA in 1987 from U. of Pittsburgh. As many of you know, I married Barb Lewis From G.L. in 1983 and we now have 3 children: Marie (16), Billy D. (15) and Julie (12). They are all doing well but I am beginning to feel old. My golf game stinks, my finances are a wreck after the drop in the market, I added a few pounds, lost a step in running...But I am having a great time. I still try to run to keep in pseudo-shape, I play soccer every week, I do a lot of home remodelling, and we are always running with the kids someplace. We love being back in the NJ area and we are having a lot of fun being able to see friends and family more often!!"

I've been married to Caren since 1996, and we have two children - Stephanie (born Nov. 1998) and Tyler (born June 2001). Thankfully, still no minivan in our garage! We live in a real "Mayberry" of a town near the Massachusetts/New Hampshire border. It makes Berkeley Heights look as developed as Summit, yet my neighbor down the street is Gary Kraemer (G.L. class of 1977)! On the work side, I run TechMarcom, Inc., a PR and marketing communications agency for start-ups and early stage companies. I've written articles and columns that have appeared in The Boston Globe, Crain Communications, Primedia Business Magazines, ZDNet, CMP Publications, East Bay Business Times, Mass High Tech, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, DM News, PRWeek, and more. I am an environmental engineer that is currently helping clean up our fore-fathers messes/mistakes and Kay is a professor of nutrition at Syracuse University. We live in Skaneateles, NY (properly pronounced as scan-e-at-les but for those that prefer the local vernacular it's skinny-at-les) which is located at the northern end of that Finger Lake approximately 30 miles west of Syracuse. Yes winters are cold and snowey (about 135" this season) but it affords us outdoor activities such as sledding, skating, ice-fishing, skiing.... In addition to the winter activities, the lake is also beautiful for sailing when it's not frozen over. Hope all is well and hope to see many of you at the reunion." Mario Coccia - in processing of moving to Austria writes: "I regret to say that I cannot attend the reunion. I and my family will be moving overseas for me to continue my studies in theology! In May 2002, I earned an MA in theology from Seton Hall. Shortly afterward, convinced I should by my wife, I applied to a wonderful school called the International Theological Institute for Studies on Marriage and the Family (www.iti.ac.at). It's in a small town called Gaming in the foothills of the Austrian Alps. I was accepted this spring, and will be attending classes there at the end of August! That means, of course, that we'll be living in Austria until I complete my studies. Please go to the school's website for what the degrees mean--I'll be completing the requirements for the STM and then getting the STL, which is ultimately somewhat more than a PhD, if you consider that my MA didn't count for much toward the STM. I have turned my back on 17 years of medical advertising and communications, we have sold our house in Fanwood, NJ, and many of our possessions, found homes over the next 4 years for everything we want to keep. It looks as though there will be enough to last us 4 years, but I am also sure that God will provide. In any case, we'll be poor, but much happier. It's a big change for our children, aged 11, 9, 6 (girls) and 2 (boy), but they're all very excited to go! My wife started homeschooling them a couple of years ago, which she'll continue to do ove there. When we return, I will be most likely be teaching in a Catholic college or university or seminary, although I have no idea where right now. I truly wish I could attend this 25th reunion, but I should be at the 30th! I hope all is well with everyone and look forward to hearing from people and seeing pictures posted after the reunion!

Diana (Psyras) Ward - Cupertino, CA writes: Jim & I are living in the Bay Area, Cupertino. I can't believe that I've been here for over 20 years! Jim is a more recent transplant from Minnesota where people really do say things like "ya, you betcha!" We spend our time hiking, cycling, skiing, climbing, unwinding on the coast and enjoying our friends. I retired from high-tech sales a few years back and Jim directs an engineering group, which is turning him even grayer. We are contemplating adopting a child currently. Our thoughts turn often to our homes and families and we both feel lucky to have grown up in wonderful places. And we still have our very distinct accents to prove it!"

Janice Sampson - Westfield, NJ writes: "Still residing in Westfield, NJ. After working many years as a civil defense paralegal I entered the medical education field. I worked for 5 years as a Senior Director of international events (drug launches and promotion) and as Director of Operations for the same medical education agency. Although it was a rewarding career and I traveled to some incredible destinations, international travel had its shelf life and so does the pressure of being in charge of intense events with international challenges. So, I needed a break. I decided to go back to school yet again, for something I always wanted to do. I am in my first year/second semester of a threeyear program studying American Sign Language/Deaf Studies." Janice has also generously offered to use her event planning expertise to lead our 25-year reunion team.

My son Kenny is almost 11 years old and active in various sports- 2 basketball teams, travelling soccer and baseball. It seems nowadays sports are all year round rather than seasonal. My daughter Ally is 8 years old and she is as busy as her brother. She plays travelling soccer also and softball. I am also a Brownie leader for my daughter and on the Board at our Pool club. I do alot of volunteer work at my children's schools too. My husband Tom and I just celebrated 13 years of marriage. I can't believe how fast time is moving these days. I hope I can make it to the reunion. I have to see where our soccer tournaments are that wkend."

I have the same wife, Tracy (17 years), the same son, Jonathan (11 years) and the same job, Pastor at Messiah Lutheran Church (9 years). My involvement in community projects continues to expand and I'm learning more about local politics than I care to know. Among these community efforts, work on the renovation and physical rebuilding of our library system properties is a highlight.
